1953 CHEVROLET ”3100”  5-WINDOW PICK-UP TRUCK #H53T021831.

(Stock # 3670.) This is a fully restored example of the

very attractive and desirable 5-window truck with a

rare side-mounted spare wheel and tire and a

magnificent varnished wood bed. The truck came to us

from a Summit family who commissioned the

restoration and who kept it as a summer toy at their

summer house in Maine. The full cosmetic restoration

on this truck was completed in 2004 and the

mechanicals were done in 2010.  The result is an

absolutely charming truck which is very correct and

original, very functional to drive and in fabulous

condition throughout. Finished in bright red with

black running boards, a dark red interior, chrome

front grill and bumpers and its fabulous varnished

wood plank bed. The truck is equipped with its

original and fully rebuilt 6-cylinder engine and 3-

speed manual transmission, original radio, twin

outside rear-view mirrors and seat belts. All original

manuals are present.  This truck must be seen and

1953 BUICK SPECIAL WOODIE ESTATE WAGON

1953 BUICK SPECIAL WOODIE  ESTATE WAGON

Almost 200,000 Buick Supers were sold in 1953, but just

1,830 were built with the fabulous woodie “Estate wagon”

body.  Rare, elegant and expensive when new, these cars

were the last of Buick’s real wood wagons and the end of an

automotive era. Powered by Buick’s famous “Fireball” 8-

cylinder engine, our car is equipped with automatic

transmission, power steering, power brakes, signal-seeking

radio, tinted glass, optional original chrome wire wheels,

remote driver-side spotlight/rear-view mirror combination,

original width whitewall tires, etc.  The trademark

“Ventiports: on each front fender and “gunsight” hood

ornament further distinguish this grand car. We purchased

this wonderful car from a quite eclectic collection in Darien,

Connecticut and drove it back to The Stable in comfort and

style, much to the amusement and approval of people with

whom we shared the highways and byways on the trip home.

An AACA National First Prize winner, the car is impeccable

inside, outside, under the hood and under the car and drives

amazingly well with every light, gauge and accessory--

including original radio and clock-- working as new.   The

original owner’s manual accompanies the car which needs

nothing to show or just enjoy driving. 80,231 miles. $84,500.

ISKY cam--matched to its 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
