1963 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL 4-DOOR CONVERTIBLE # 3Y86N412639.(Stock #3648.) Lincoln built a series of most unusual, fabulously elegant 4-door Continental convertibles-- often referred to as the “Kennedy Era Lincolns.” Our car left the Wixom, Michigan factory on November 20, 1963 and was ordered with factory air conditioning—a relatively rare option back in the early ‘60’s. Ours was sold new to a Darien, Connecticut man who sold the car to a neighboring Darien family in 1966. That family treasured the car for almost fifty years, garaging it either of their homes in Darien or in Palm Beach, Florida. Ordered in Black with dark red leather and a white convertible top, the car underwent a full strip and repaint in the original color in 1991. The body and paint remain in very nice condition today as does the convertible top. The interior is completely original and, although the leather is completely serviceable, does have a patina commensurate with more than half a century of use. There has never been another car built quite like the 6-passenger, 4-door Continental convertible and our car is fully documented with a file of service records present along with the original owners manual. 82,472 miles.
