Description

1950 JAGUAR MK V 3.5 LITRE SUNROOF SALOON. Chassis #827490; Engine # T7358. Following World War II, Jaguar introduced the beautiful MK V model, following their classic pre-war design but modernizing it a bit with headlamps flared into the front fenders. However, the amazingly graceful pre-war body lines remained, with opposing doors, large flowing rear fender skirts and a reverse opening boot lid with tool compartment inside. This design then disappeared in 1951 with the introduction of thethen-contemporary rounded design of the MK VII. Our car features original Lucas driving lamps, the optional chrome leaping Jaguar radiator mascot, twin front wing mirrors, etc. Engine choices were either the 2.5 litre 6-cylinder, twin carburetor version or, for those who desired the extra performance, the optional 3.5 litre version by which our car is powered. Our car is lovely in virtually unmarked Cornish Grey with wonderful saddle leather interior and walnut faciaand interior trim. The original 4-speed manual transmission shifts wonderfully and rack-and-pinion steering has been added to avoid the somewhat heavy feel of the original manual steering. The car is ready now for show or to be driven anywhere and is accompanied by its original owner's manual and a notebook of service records which show extensive mechanical servicing being performed between May and November, 1998 at a mileage of 14,546. The car has been sparingly driven and carefully kept since then with current mileage standing at just 16,194. $58,000. 1950 JAGUAR MK V 3.5 LITRE SUNROOF SALOON. Chassis #827490; Engine # T7358.
