Description

1967 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK III ROADSTER #y. (Stock #3842.) 1967 was the last year of production of the fabulous “Big Healey” and incorporated all of the improvements of the fabulous marquee. The original 6-cylinder engine produced 107 horsepower and over the years was bolstered by @50 per cent with the power being raised to 150 horsepower by the 1967 model. The 4-speed manual transmission was fitted with an electric overdrive, being responsible for a substantial difference at highway speeds. The MK III cars had a much more luxurious interior than earlier Healeys with a handsome polished wood facia, roll-up windows (as opposed to earlier side curtains) and a convertible top which can be easily lowered as opposed to the ones on the earlier cars which had to be disassembled to be stowed away. Our car had covered just 52,000 miles at the time of purchase by a Massachusetts M.D. who had the car treated to a body-off-chassis restoration upon his purchase of it in 1997. Driven fewer than 7,000 miles during the following 20 years, the car remains in beautiful condition throughout and drives exactly as these cars were intended to do. Finished in the proper color of British Racing Green with the correct balck convertible top and boot, the car is fitted with beautiful 15” chrome “knock-off” wire wheels and is accompanied by its original set of silver painted 15” wire wheels which have been restored. 58,472 miles. $75,000.
