1966 MERCEDES-BENZ 250SE COUPE #111.021-12- 084399. (Stock # 3872) The 2-door, 4-passenger, hardtop coupe has always been a personal luxury offering by Mercedes-Benz and was priced near the top of the M.B. line-up. The amazingly elegant ‘111’ style coupe was introduced in 1961 as a “220SE” model with a fuel-injected, 2.2 litre, straight six cylinder engine. It was a classically handsome design with a very luxurious leather interior trimmed in walnut. In 1966, the engine size was increased to 2.5 litres and the car otherwise remained the same. Our car was one of these larger-engined cars and was sold new in Michigan to a woman professor at the University. She pampered the car for most of its life before selling it to a close friend following @40 years of ownership. He, in turn, sold the car to a Mercedes-Benz collector/enthusiast in New Jersey who is a customer of ours. Our car is finished in a beautiful deep red with bone leather and the highly desirable “Tiger Walnut” facia and interior trim and optional chrome “300SE’ fender arches. The car is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, optional tinted windows and shaded windshield (helpful should someone wish to have air conditioning installed) and the original top-of- the-line Becker “Mexico” AM-FM radio. 95,166 miles. $38,500.
