1972 JAGUAR XKE-V/12 ROADSTER #IS20527. (Stock #4449). In 1961, Jaguar created an automobile which was instantly acclaimed as one of the most innovative and beautiful cars of all time–the XKE. Enzo Ferrari is attributed to having said in 1961, that “the XKE is the most beautiful car ever built.”  And not just beautiful, but fast and fabulous on the road. The XKE was built in 3 body styles–the open roadster, the coupe and the larger “2+2”coupe. The original 6-cylinder engine remained in production through 1971, at which time the more powerful V-12 engine became available offering incredibly smooth performance from its 5.3 litre, 4-carburetor, aluminum V-12 engine and 4-speed fully synchromesh manual transmission. With a top speed of @145 miles per hour, the car is very exciting to drive. Available with 15” chrome wire wheels, an AM-FM stereo radio, air conditioning and a rear luggage rack, the car same standard with a leather interior, power steering, a manual 4-speed transmission and 4-wheel power disc brakes. Our car, built in May, 1972, was a 1-owner car for 54 years and is an original car right down to its completely original leather interior and black convertible top and top boot.  It was shown at the Hershey, Pa. AACA National Meet in 2005, winning ”Original" Class and at the 2004 Greenwich, Connecticut Concours d’Elegance,  winning the “Sponsors Choice” Award  award for originality.  It is fitted with all 4 options–factory air conditioning, AM-FM stereo, rear deck luggage rack and 15” chrome wire wheels and the car drives as new.
