Enzo Ferrari is attributed to having said in 1961, that “the XKE is the most beautiful car ever built.” And not just beautiful, but fast and fabulous on the road. The XKE was built in 3 body styles–the open roadster, the coupe and the larger “2+2”coupe. The original 6-cylinder engine remained in production through 1971, at which time the more powerful V-12 engine became available offering incredibly smooth performance from its 5.3 litre, 4-carburetor, aluminum V-12 engine and 4-speed fully synchromesh manual transmission. With a top speed of @145 miles per hour, the car is very exciting to drive.
