1956 XK-140MC ROADSTER #8812208. (Stock #4118.) The beautiful XK-120 Jaguar was succeeded by a new and also absolutely beautiful XK-140 model in 1955. The new car, while carrying the same basic design of the 120, offered a bit more interior space and a few modifications to body trim. Whereas the XK-120 was available in a higher performance version, the XK 120M, (“M” for modified) the new high performance car was offered as an XK-140MC --“M” for modified and “C” representing its racing “C-Type” engine head. The XK-140, as the preceding XK-120, was available in a hardtop coupe, a "drop-head coupe” (convertible with small back seats) or the sleek roadster form—a pure 2-seater where the rear deck reaches right up to the back of the seat and the convertible top disappears under the rear deck. Our XK-140MC roadster r is gorgeous in Mason's Black with red leather interior and 16” chrome “knock-off” wire wheels. The car was restored shortly prior to our local customer purchasing it @20 years ago and was done very well, maintaining its "recently restored look this many years later. The car looks great and drives just as it should.SLD!
