1947 Ford Super DeLuxe "Woody" Wagon

1947 FORD SUPER DELUXE “WOODY WAGON.” #799A1533844.

We sold  this quite rare and very original  woody about 43 years ago to a local  (Bernardsville) enthusiast who, following years of enjoyment, sold it to a close friend and local (New Vernon) neighbor. He has carefully maintained the car in a climate-controlled collection ever since, driving it on special occasions. This is the rare 8-passenger , 4-door model with “walk-through” seating  to the rear  two rows of seats. Finished, as originally offered, in burgundy with saddle interior and still with its original radio, clock and remote-control driver-side spotlight. Twin outside rear-view mirrors are also  present.  The distinctive rear-mounted spare wheel and tire are externally mounted on the rear and the original wood is everywhere—inside and out, with the inside roof looking like the inside of an old wooden skiff. The original flathead V-8 engines which powered these workhorses are legendary for their durability and this one is connected to a 3-speed manual transmission. Odometer reading: 24,242. $58,500.
