The 450SEL “6.9” was the legendary and very limited-production, over-the-top, high performance luxury offering from Mercedes-Benz in the 1970’s. The 450SEL was the same body with the 4.5 litre V-8 engine offering excellent performance and the same comfort and luxury of its fabled brethren. Our car comes to us from the family of its original Greenwich, Connecticut owner. Sold new by the Mercedes-Benz dealer in Greenwich, the car stayed with its original owner until he went into an assisted-living center in 2012. The car was kept in the owner’s heated garage, being occasionally exercised by family members until the owner’s passing at which time his grandson inherited the car. 10 years later, he and his partner then fully serviced the car, receipts are present, and put it back on the road.
