1985 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA. #WP0EB0912FS161751.
(Stock #4418.) The iconic Porsche “911” Series was introduced at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 1963 with production starting in 1964, replacing its predecessor, the amazingly cute “356”. In 1984, the more advanced, but still classic, 5th generation 911, was introduced. Offered in coupe, convertible and rare Targa body styles, the car had a top speed of 152 miles per hour and a very impressive 0-60 mph acceleration time of 5.5 seconds with its all-alloy, newly-increased displacement, flat-6 cylinder, air-cooled engine and 5-speed manual transmission. To handle the new power, brake size was increased and a finned oil cooler was introduced. Porsche 911’s have had an amazingly successful racing history around the world. Our car is classically finished in black with excellent original dark grey leather and, of course, a removable black Targa top. It came to us from a local owner who purchased it in 1996 from its Pound Ridge, New York owner, then with 60,300 miles. He has carefully driven the car on an average of fewer than 1,000 miles per year since that purchase, resulting in a most-desirable, numbers-matching, unaltered car which is cosmetically excellent with matching mechanical condition. It has been serviced by Porsche specialists, carefully driven and maintained, and offered now, with just 83,256 miles, at $69,000.
