The Carrera 4S is a very interesting car. It shares its “S” body with the 911 Turbo and is equipped with the fabulous Porsche 4-wheel drive system. Powered by the 24 valve, 3.6 litre, dry-sump 6-cylinder engine, with a maximum 7300 rpm and a 6-speed manual transmission, the car offers a 0-60 mile per hour time of 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 174 mph. Controlling the performance capabilities, the car is fitted with 4-piston, fixed alloy calipers and vented and perforated ABS power disc brakes. Our car was ordered with a plethora of optional equipment including Litronic headlamps, the “Advanced Technic Package,” (a $6,570 option), heated Sport Seats with memory and embossed Porsche logo, Bose high-end stereo system with 6-CD changer, power heated outside rear view mirrors, rear windscreen, etc. It was purchased new and kept for 9 years in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, later moving to Dobbs Ferry, New York and then sold with 46,110 miles, by the Porsche/Audi dealership in Greenwich, Connecticut in 2013 to a local (Lake Mohawk) family. On June 3, 2019, another local (Rockaway) enthusiast purchased the car, then with 62,827 miles. He pampered the car until he visited The Stable in November, 2023, saw a Ferrari California Spider for sale in our showroom and decided that he had to own it. The only decision to be made was whether or not to keep both cars. Deciding that owning both would be an automotive reduplication, he, luckily for us, sold his Porsche to us. Finished in fabulous Atlas Gray Metallic with light Graphite Gray full leather interior and black power convertible top with glass rear window, the car has never seen any damage or paintwork and is in magnificent condition throughout. It is fitted with twin front and side airbags, is accompanied by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity along with service records, original manuals, tools and original window sticker (showing a price new of $104,840). The car has had its IMS bearing replaced (with accompanying photo documentation) along with a new clutch, slave cylinder, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and flywheel being installed at the same time. 70,804 miles.
