1994 FERRARI 348 TS TARGA #ZFFRG36A5N0092588. (Stock #3898.) In 1990, Ferrari introduced an entirely new car as a successor to the venerable 308/328 series of mid-engine, V-8 powered , 2-seater Ferraris. The new “348” (3.4 litre, 8- cylinder as opposed to 3.0 or 3.2 litre), 4-cam, Bosch fuel- injected, dry sump engine gave substantially better performance than the earlier cars. The top speed was now 171 miles per hour and the 0-60 mph acceleration time was now lowered to 5.3 seconds. The 348 had a design similar to the look of the contemporary 12-cylinder Testa Rossa incorporating the same side strakes as the larger car. The 348 was offered in hardtop, convertible or in “targa” form, the latter giving the best of both worlds-- open motoring with hardtop protection. Our targa was purchased by a local enthusiast from its second owner in 2010, then with just more than 25,000 miles. The car had had a paint blemish on the front hood since 2003 and the car’s new owner decided to have that repaired. He was having a full restoration performed on another car at the time and decided to have the paintwork on his new Ferrari made perfect by the same restoration shop. A full repaint was performed at that time resulting in a body which today is still as-new and retains its original Scuderia shields. The original tan leather is in very nice condition, as is the removable top, and the car drives flawlessly. A timing belt service was performed two years and fewer than 1,000 miles ago. 32,063 miles. $58,000.
