1967 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER SHADOW SALOON, CHASSIS #SRX-2407, ENGINE # 2407. (Stock #4156). The early Silver Shadows carried through with many luxury touches which were present in the preceding Silver Clouds but lost in following models. The woodwork in these early cars is incredibly elegant-- from the fabulous polished front facia and door capping rails, to the rear folding picnic trays and lighted vanity mirrors. Our car was completed by Rolls-Royce in late 1967 and shipped to Long Beach, California, via The Colorado Star, arriving on January 17, 1968. From there the car went to its selling dealer, Roy Carver Rolls-Royce in Costa Mesa, California, and then delivered to its new owner, John Sedlack of La Jolla, California at a cost, including the lambs wool rear carpet overlay ($60 extra) of $19,660—about the cost of three new 1967 Cadillacs,. From La Jolla, the car moved to Santa Ana where it remained for decades until seen and when purchased anjd brought East by a local Far Hills) vintage car collector, the President and CEO of a Fortune 500 company.who had a vacation home neigh boring the owner’s home. At that time, the original interior and paint were showing signs of age, so our customer had the complete interior redone in Connolly hides and Wilton carpeting, as original, and the body repainted in the original colors of Sand over Sable. Mechanicals were redone as necessary at the same time and the car today presents and drives just as it did more than 50 years ago. When it came time, the owner asked us to sell the car for him, along with his Corniche convertible, Aston Martin DB-4, Mercedes-Benz 220SE convertible and Bentley S-II saloon. The Shadow was his favorite and the last to leave his fabulous garage. We then sold the car to another long-time local customer and now have the pleasure of again offering this spectacular example for sale. All original manuals, factory paperwork and full provenance are present with the car. 66,077 miles. SOLD!
