Finished in Raven Black with black and white interior, white porthole hardtop and black convertible soft top, this is not your run-of-the-mill classic Thunderbird. 1957 was the final year of production for the classic 2-seater Thunderbirds and were available with the base 292 cubic inch, 2-V V-8 engine or the larger optional 312 cubic inch V-8 with a 2-barrel, a 4-barrel, or the two rare options – the 2x4-barrel carbs (the E-Code or the fitted with a supercharger F-Code). Ordered as the rare and high-performance “E-Bird” with the larger 312 cubic inch V-8 engine with 2X4-barrel Holley carburetors, ours is equipped with a rare 3-speed manual transmission, power steering, and Town and Country signal-seeking radio. Just 1,499 of these special “E-Code” cars were built, and this one has been judged to be one of the finest extant.
