(Stock #4403.) The Lincoln Continental name was first given to a car custom-built for Edsel Ford in 1939. Production of those fabulous 12-cylinder cars came to a close in 1947 and the Continental name was not given to any other Lincolns until 1955. At that time, an amazing car, The Continental MK II– one of the most exclusive and expensive cars in the world–was built. Following 2,996 of these fabulous cars being made, the Continental name was again withdrawn by Lincoln until, in 1961, the Continental again reappeared on another bespoke automobile, available in 4-door sedan or 4-door convertible form, these cars all had “opposing doors” to the rear and opening from the front, therein facilitating ease of entry and exit. In 2019, the “Continental Coach” name was assigned to another amazing car. This car was built to honor the Continental tradition and the 80th Anniversary of Lincoln automobiles. Just 80 of these fabulous ultra-luxury sedans were built in 2019, with a so-far undetermined number built in 2020, prior to the end of production. The “80th Anniversary Coach Edition” had a wheelbase 6 inches longer than the 4-door Lincoln sedans, featuring the same opposing rear doors of the Continentals of the 1960’s, a very distinctive exterior design and an amazingly opulent interior. Powered by a 400 horsepower, twin turbocharged, 6-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive, giving a top speed of 160 miles-per-hour. It is finished in all-original “Infinite Black Metallic” with gorgeous “Alpine Venetian” leather and an Alcantara headliner.
