1983 FERRARI 308 GTS QUATROVALVOLE #ZFFLA13B000046761. (Stock # ) Introduced in 1975 as the successor to the fabulous Ferrari “246,” the 308 became an enormous success, thanks in part to it being the vehicle of choice for Tom Selleck in the TV series, “Magnum P.I.” Of course, another reason for the 308’s great success is the timeless design, which has only gotten more attractive with each passing year, and its road-holding performance which is fabulous. Originally offered in coupe form only (the GTB), the targa-top version was introduced in 1977 and became the most popular model. In 1980, the car was fitted with fuel-injection which lowered the horsepower a bit, but in 1983, 4-valve per cylinder heads were brought on board and horsepower (and performance) was increased substantially. Performance times of 0-60 miles per hour in about 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 158 mph. Our car, fitted with electric windows, factory air conditioning, Alpine AM-FM/CD player, Michelin tires on original wheels, overall car cover, etc. was purchased in California in 1987 from the fellow who had brought it into the country as an almost-new car. The new owner, who has kept the car for the past 40 years, serviced it at Exoticars in Frenchtown, NJ and at Classic Coach in Elizabeth, NJ, both long-time Ferrari specialists. It underwent a complete stripping and repaint with Exoticars 20 years ago and now is near-perfect. The original black leather is near showroom new as is the rest of the original interior of the car, looking great with the removable black targa top. It has been kept in a climate-controlled garage since its arrival from California almost 40 years ago and is simply amazing. All original manuals along with both tool kits and all factory accessories are present. 36,990 miles. $138,000.
