1941 FORD “SUPER DELUXE”
CONVERTIBLE # 6290272.
With America having recently entered World
War II, production of American cars was waning
and 1941 was the last full year of production.
The 1941 Ford “V-8” was very popular and the
convertible was considered “the cat’s meow.”
The flathead V-8 engine originally offered 65
horsepower, but had grown to 100 horsepower by
the time this car was built in February, 1941.The
car is resplendent in steel grey with dark red
interior and black convertible top, piped in dark
red to match the interior. If it looks vaguely
familiar, that may be from the car having been
used by Charlize Theron and Tobey Maguire in
“Cider House Rules”with Michael Caine in 2010.
The car first came to us in 2012 from its owner
from Princeton, NJ and Naples, Florida who had
owned it for more than 10 years. We then sold
the car to a Pennsylvania surgeon, a collector
who is now trading the car to us on a vintage
Jaguar. 88,745 miles.
