1986 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA COUPE #WP0AB0914GS122465. (Stocki #4448.)  The Porsche 911 was introduced in 1965, replacing the venerable “356” which had been introduced following World War II. With an entirely new 2 litre, 6-cylinder engine replacing the 1.6 litre, 4-cylinder 356 engine, Porsche had jumped forward in performance capability.  By 1984, Porsche had moved up to a 3.2 litre, Bosch fuel-injected engine which, by the 1986 model, was capable of a top speed of more than 160 miles per hour and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of @5.9 seconds. With large 4-wheel power disc brakes, the car was known not only for amazing reliability and endurance (hundreds of  thousands of miles are not uncommon without an engine rebuild), but equally amazing performance on race tracks and in rallies  around the world. Our car is beautiful in its original Guards Red with beautifully-maintained original Cashmere leather. Purchased by us 20 years ago, then with just more than 70,000 miles, we sold the car to a local enthusiast who drove it back and forth between his homes in Hilton Head, South Carolina and Princeton, New Jersey. The factory option list shows that the car was delivered with such highly desirable equipment as a short-throw shifter, factory “whale tale” rear spoiler, front spoiler, “Comfort” 8-way adjustable front electric seats, electric sunroof and outside rear view mirrors, electric rear defogger, air conditioning, Blaupunkt “Reno” AM/FM stereo system, electric windows and locks, etc. Now, at just over 90,000 miles, we have fully serviced the car with all new brakes (caliper, rotors, pads, lines, etc.), repacked wheel bearings,  replaced spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, points and rotor, oil and filter and basically prepared the car for the next 20 years of driving.  Four new Michelin tires (or tires of  the purchaser’s choice) will be installed prior to delivery.
