1956 JAGUAR XK140 MC FIXED HEAD COUPE. #S814660.
(Stock #4352.) Following the end of World War II, the British Automobile Industry made significant advances in the development and design of automobiles. The first post-war Jaguar sports car, the XK-120, designed by designer extraordinaire William Lyons, shocked the automotive world with its fabulous sweeping-line design and stellar performance. Following nine years of production, the XK-120 was succeeded by the XK-140 model with a bit more performance and comfort. For those needing even more performance, the XK-140 MC was offered, incorporating the “C-Type” racing head and a modified exhaust system, resulting in a substantial horsepower boost. Our car is a rare, fully numbers-matching example with that factory “C-Type” engine, dual exhaust, factory 4-speed transmission, original 16-inch “knock-off” wire wheels wire, and factory fog lamps. Beautifully and fully restored in Old English White with gorgeous dark red leather and carpets and polished burl walnut interior. The car drives as well as it appears and will be welcome at any Jaguar club or vintage car shows, tours, and events. 55,639 miles. $95,000.
