1967 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 2-TOP ROADSTER #194677S105142. 1967 was the final year of production of the fabulous Series 2 Corvette Stingray. Available in both coupe and roadster form, the car came standard with the 327 cubic inch, 250 horsepower engine and had options starting with the 300 horsepower engine. Our car, a convertible with both factory tops, is equipped with that optional engine, along with an automatic transmission with a floor shift, power steering, power brakes (front disc), factory air conditioning, tinted glass and shaded windshield, AM-FM stereo, “side pipes” exhaust system, rally wheels and a factory hard top. .It was purchased by a local dentist in 1969 who wanted it as his every day, fair weather car to commune to his office. When he retired from his profession, he decided to concentrate on bringing the car back to new condition. During the next almost 20 years, he commissioned a body-off chassis restoration with every part of the car being brought back to new condition. He started entering the car in NCRS competition in 1999 and won First Place, Best of Show, Peoples’ Choice and specific class awards. Included in those were three “Topflight” awards. His family reports that every time the slightest imperfection was spotted by a judge, the car went back to the owner’s garage and he corrected the imperfection. He had had a special climate-controlled single-car garage built on to his home, specifically for the purpose of this car to have its own space and be made perfect. The chassis and undercarriage of the car are detailed to an amazing degree of perfection. With a total of just over 59,000 miles, this car has now achieved near-perfection and appears and drives as a new car. Over the years the owner purchased any new old stock parts which he could locate for the car. That collection of parts, still in original boxes, is to go with the car. For someone who wants to drive or compete with a car which will certainly be recognized as a winner–or for the person who just wants to own and drive a great last-year-of-production Stingray–probably the best available, this is the car. Finished in as-original Sunfire Yellow with black interior, black convertible top and matching detachable vinyl hard top. 59,541 miles. $125,000
