1988 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER SPUR SALOON. #SCAZN02A8JCX23343.
(Stock #4278.) In 1980, Rolls Royce announced the end of assembly of the venerable “Silver Shadow” saloon, which had been offered since 1965. At that time, the completely new “Silver Spirit” was introduced. Shortly thereafter, the longer wheelbase “Silver Spur” was brought on board, offering more room to the rear compartment and a more formal roof line, distinguished by the “Everflex” padded roof. Over the years subtle improvements were made to the Silver Spur, but the car remained visually the same. Our car is very handsome in Silver Sand over Mason’s Black with a black Everflex roof and black leather interior. It was delivered new by Carriage House Motor Cars, the Rolls-Royce dealership in New York City, to a New Jersey family who sent it to their vacation home in Florida. Its luxury features have remained as original over the years, with even the original stereo system being in place. The original leather is in very good condition as is the magnificent polished walnut which adorns the interior and matches the folding picnic tables and lighted vanity mirrors to the rear compartment. In 1994, the original owners moved the car, then with @5,000 miles, from their Florida home to their home in Warren, New Jersey. In 2008, with @25,000 miles, the car was sold to a family in neighboring Tewksbury, who have enjoyed the car for another 14 years and 15,000 miles. The car has been kept in excellent condition throughout, drives beautifully and is accompanied by all of its original manuals in their original leather case. It is now offered with 40,196 miles at a price of $22,000.
