Having their 5.5 litre V-8 powerplant in a mid-size 4-passenger convertible certainly fulfills that specification.  A new engine was introduced in the CLK550for the 2007 models. The twin-cam, 24 valve V-8 engine, in coordination with a 7-speed automatic transmission,  offers a 0-60 mph  acceleration time of  5.1 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph. The car is exceptionally stable to drive and offers ABS braking as well as electronic stability control.  The fully automatic convertible top is fully lined and insulated and there is comfortable seating for four adults. Safety features include multi-stage front impact airbags as well as side impact head and torso airbags and automatically deploying roll bars.
