(Stock #4394.) The Mercedes Benz “SL” has come a long way from the introduction of the 300SL and the 190SL in 1955. The 4-cylinder 190SL was very pretty but without any substantial performance and the 300SL was mind boggling with fabulous good looks and outstanding performance. 2007 was the year that the “SL550” was introduced and it continued the tradition of outstanding good looks and impressive performance. Producing 80 horsepower more than the already-impressive SL500 the preceding year, and with a 7-speed automatic transmission, the new SL550 has a 0-60 mph acceleration time of @5 seconds with a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph. Safety features include: twin 2-stage front airbags with head-thorax side impact airbags and driver’s knee airbag, Xenon headlamps with Twilight sensors, ABS anti-lock brakes with 4-piston calipers and ventilated disc, electronic stability program (ESP), Automatic Slip Reduction (ASR), automatic pop-up rollover bar, night security illumination, etc. Luxury features abound and include retractable hardtop, premium leather, hand polished interior wood trim, 12-way adjustable heated seats with lumbar support and memory, leather-trimmed, multi-function steering wheel, DVD/COMAND navigation/audio system, 8-speaker Bose Surround System with CD player and 6 disc CD charger, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear and driver side mirrors, SmartKey infrared remote roof automation, plus factory 18” alloy wheels, the Premium Equipment II Package and AMG Sport Package. Our car was ordered in gorgeous “Storm Red” with Black Premium leather and was delivered new to Oregon where it remained until 2022 when it was sold to one of our local (Long Valley) customers. It has led an extremely pampered life as it is difficult to distinguish from new. It is accompanied by all original manuals and tools and even its original window sticker. All of this luxury and performance came at a price of $109, 355 in 2007. With current mileage of 39,022, the car is now priced at $33,000.
