1952 Ford Customline Club Coupe V8 3-Speed

1952 FORD CUSTOMLINE. #B2KC106664. 

(Stock 4368.) This 1952 Ford Customline club coupe was acquired out of Colorado by the current owner in 2018 and was subsequently refurbished. Powered by a 256ci flathead stroker V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, the car is finished in blue over patterned blue upholstery. Modifications include a Scat crankshaft, an Isky camshaft, a 12-volt electrical system, a Derale electric cooling fan, a Wilwood brake master cylinder, front disc brakes, power steering, Restomod Air climate control, and a Pioneer head unit.

This modified Customline is now offered on dealer consignment with refurbishment records and a clean New Jersey title.  The car was finished from the factory in Alpine Blue (C) and features a hood ornament as well as chrome bumpers and trim. A dealer tag from Warren’s of Elko, Nevada, is affixed to the decklid. The windshield wipers have been converted to electrical operation, and Hella halogen headlamps have been installed. The Customline lettering is missing the “e” on the passenger side, and the Ford badge on the trunk is worn. Body-color 15″ wheels with Ford-branded hubcaps are wrapped in Auburn Deluxe Radial tires. A Wilwood master cylinder has been added to a braking system that now has vented front discs. Power-steering linkage from a 1955 Ford Thunderbird also was adapted, and the car utilizes Bilstein front and KYB rear shocks. The patterned blue cloth and blue vinyl seats were reupholstered under prior ownership. A Restomod Air Haymaker S climate-control system features four air-conditioning outlets and two heater outlets. A Bluetooth-capable Pioneer Mixtrax head unit is wired to 6×9″ speakers, and other appointments include front lap belts, blue carpeting, and courtesy lights.  The black steering wheel has a horn ring and frames a 100-mph speedometer and gauges monitoring oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.

The 239ci V8 was rebuilt with a stroker crankshaft from Scat Crankshafts that increases displacement to 256ci. The engine also has been modified with a camshaft from Isky Racing Cams, and other equipment includes a serpentine drive-belt system, a Derale Performance auxiliary cooling fan, and an electric fuel pump. The vehicle has been converted to a 12-volt electrical system. The distributor and the carburetor have been rebuilt since 2021. The engine bay was refinished during the refurbishment, as were the front fender wells and the underside at the front of the car. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The clutch was replaced during the refurbishment. The chassis number is consistent with a 1952 Ford built in Kansas City, Kansas, and equipped with a 239ci V8 and a two-barrel carburetor. The trim tag further indicates that the vehicle is a Customline club coupe that was originally painted Alpine Blue.  More than $110k in records from Auto-Tech Corp of Long Valley, New Jersey, from 2021 and 2022.
