1963 JAGUAR MARK II SALOON #P222145BW. (Stock #4423.)
The MK II Jaguar is an amazingly handsome midsize 4-door sedan built between 1959 and 1967. Jaguar combined the luxury of their larger sedan with the performance of their legendary sports cars and the luxurious interior offered leather seats and gorgeous polished walnut facia and interior trim surrounding the occupants. Two folding beverage trays to the rear compartment matched that interior trim. The MK II’s were all powered by a twin cam, twin carb. 6-cylinder engine, offered in either 2.4, 3.4 or 3.8 litre form. This car was ordered with the larger 3.8 litre engine with an automatic transmission and 4-wheel power disc brakes. Interestingly, the cars fitted with power disc brakes were given a red rectangular “warning” badge in the center of the rear bumper to warn following drivers of the increased stopping power of these disc brake cars. Power steering, chrome “knock-off” wire wheels, seat belts and a Blaupunkt AM radio were also optionally available, and our car is fitted with all four of those options. Finished in beautiful Opalescent Dark Blue with light grey leather, this car is ready to show well at any Jaguar or British car shows, rallies or other events and/or serve as a novel, luxurious and sporty means of transportation. It drives as well as it presents and is accompanied by its original owner's manual and service records. 62,841 miles. $47,000
