1980 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC

1980 MERCEDES-BENZ 450SLC #107.024-12-029225.  Mercedes-Benz introduced the “107” Series coupe/roadster in 1971 as a 350/450SL to very favorable reviews and great success. In 1973, an upscale, 4-passenger, longer wheelbase coupe was introduced. Over the years the car evolved a bit, gaining more luxury and safety features until, in 1981, the smaller-engined 380SL and SLC arrived on the scene. Our car was ordered new by a local Mercedes-Benz-only enthusiast to serve as a week-end driver to accompany his every-day 450SEL. Ordered in (#673)  Light Ivory with (#234) Palomino leather with the two available options–electric sunroof and the top-of-the-line Becker “Mexico” signal seeking AM-FM stereo system, the car was magnificent and spent any inclement weather days and most weekdays covered in its heated garage.  Today the car is as resplendent and gorgeous as it was upon new delivery to its only owner and driver 45 years ago. It is accompanied by all of its original manuals (with each required service stamped in its original “Maintenance Booklet”) in its original sleeve, all original tools in their original cloth case–still sealed  in its original plastic wrapping, original window sticker ($42,134 in 1980 dollars), still carries its original–and nearly flawless paint, chrome, glass, leather, carpets, alloy wheels–and even its 5 original Michelin “XVS” blackwall radial tires. We collected the car from its original garage when the owner’s estate was settled, have now serviced it here in our shop and offer it for sale to a discerning individual who missed purchasing one new 45 years ago, or someone who wishes to have the best in its class at a Mercedes-Benz Club concours d’elegance, or just wishes to have an absolutely magnificent and completely original vintage Mercedes-Benz sports-tourer with just 21,228  miles . $48,000.
