1962 MG MIDGET ROADSTER. #GAN1L8089.
(Stock #3900.) In 1962, a new model was introduced to an adoring public–the MG Midget. Although MG had earlier referred to their cars as “Midgets”, that was never the official name until this was built. The new car was, as could be assumed by its name, diminutive in stature and a tremendous amount of fun to drive. The first year of production saw a 998 cc 4-cylinder engine producing 46 horsepower in the car. In 1962, engine size was increased to 1098 cc and horsepower increased to a whopping 56 horsepower. The cars weighed-in at @1500 lbs. and, with their 4-speed manual gearbox and rack-and-pinion steering, were very agile–a true British sports car. We purchased our car as part of a 5-car British collection (this Midget, an MGA, an MGC, a TF-1500 and an Austin Healey), from a Pennsylvania true enthusiast. An extremely original and correct car in fabulous condition throughout. Beautiful red with excellent light gray interior with red piping and a cute red convertible top with side curtains. Just fully serviced and with (5) new tires. $18,000.
