2002 PORSCHE 911. #WP0CA29982S653982.
(Stock #4334.) Since the production start date of Porsche’s new “911” in 1965, the car, although being subject to many modifications, improvements and additions through the decades, has remained instantly recognizable and in high demand to sports car enthusiasts the world-over. Even when, in 1999, the 911 Carrera became water-cooled, after following the strict rule of being air-cooled since the marque’s introduction in the 1940’s, the car could instantly be identified as a Porsche 911. This water-cooled model was the “996” series car and became immensely popular. It was powered by a 3.6 litre, 6-cylinder, 24 valve dry sump engine coupled to a fabulously smooth 6-speed manual transmission, which together offered a 0-60 miles per hour acceleration time of @4.9 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph. Our car was ordered in the beautiful color combination of “Arctic Silver” with optional “Metropol Blue Supple Leather” to front and rear and a dark blue electrically-operated convertible top. It was also ordered with optional heated power seats, 18” Carrera alloy wheels and both the “Advanced Technic Package” and the “Design Package”. The car was sold locally (Warren) in 2003 where it was enjoyed until it was traded-in to a Porsche dealer in 2010–then with @35,000 miles. The car then remained local for 2 years until its third owner, another local (Far Hills) enthusiast, purchased the car in 2012 with @48,000 miles. He has kept the car for 12 years, servicing it regularly and driving it another @27,000 miles during his ownership. It is accompanied by original manuals, extra key, original window sticker ($90,420 original cost) and its Carfax report showing no accidents or damage. This is a beautiful looking, great driving, local, very correct and original, 911 Carrera convertible–ready for Spring driving and events. 76,583 miles. $29,500.
