1966 JAGUAR “E-TYPE” SERIES 1 COUPE #1E33380. (Stock #4190.) The Series 1 XKE coupe is certainly one of the best looking post-war sports cars ever! Its sensuous lines are beyond reproach and its performance capabilities match its stunning design. Introduced in 1961 with a fabulous 3.8 litre, twin cam, triple carburetor engine and a 4-speed manual transmission, the car was capable of a 150 mile per hour top speed and its acceleration surpassed that of many high-performance European cars costing many times the XKE’s price. 1965 saw the arrival of an improved Series One—the exactly same classically designed body with more comfortable seats and a 4.2 litre , twin cam, triple carburetor engine with a now fully synchronized 4-speed manual transmission. Our car is finished in classic Dark (British Racing) Green with beige leather interior and 15 inch chrome “knock-off” wire wheels. This is exactly as the car was completed on August 24, 1966. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate is present and confirms not only the original colors, but also original matching numbers. The car has had one local (Mendham) owner for many years and has been kept in excellent driving condition. 73,537 miles. SOLD!
