1995 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 4 “993” SUNROOF COUPE. #WPOAA299OS5322563.
(Stock #4318.) Air-cooled 911 Porsches came to an end with the highly-acclaimed “993” series. These cars are greatly and universally appreciated as perfectly-balanced, very handsome, great-handling and quite quick high quality sports cars. The fabulous 3.6 litre, fuel-injected 6-cylinder engine, was now coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox and, in the case of the Carrera 4, a super 4-wheel drive system. This combination gave the car a top speed of 168 miles per hour and a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds. Our car was purchased new by a Tewksbury Porsche-Audi enthusiast on January 11, 1995 and driven sparingly in nice weather (his Audi got the winter weather usage) until his passing in 2000. We then purchased the car (and the Audi) from his estate and sold the “C-4” to a multi-Porsche owner in Bernardsville who continued the climate-controlled garaging and exceptional care and maintenance of the car. The car was kept in beautiful condition throughout by both owners, but the second owner is a perfectionist who, after 20 years of ownership, wanted the car to look brand new. He therefore commissioned a complete strip and repaint by a highly respected restoration shop. Even though the car needed no body work, the work cost more than $40,000 and, as could reasonably be expected, achieved the “new” appearance desired by its owner. Accompanied by original manuals, tools, etc. 29,239 miles.
